At Zagi Frames (zagi.online), privacy is a design constraint rather than an afterthought. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how cookies and advertising work on this site, and the rights and choices you have over your data. By using Zagi Frames you agree to the practices described here.

Who we are

Zagi Frames operates Zagi Frames, an independent reference site publishing guides about picture framing and a set of free browser-based calculators. For data-protection purposes we are the controller of the personal data described below. You can reach us at hello@zagi.online.

There are no user accounts on this site. We never ask for your name, address, phone number, date of birth or payment details, because nothing here requires them.

Information we collect

Zagi Frames is built to collect as little personal information as possible. The limited data involved in running the service is:

• Server log data. Our web server records each request: the URL, the time, the HTTP status, the browser and device type, the referring page, and a truncated IP address. This is used for operating the site securely, diagnosing faults, and detecting abuse.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Small files stored by your browser, used for essential site behaviour, aggregate measurement and — where enabled — advertising. The detail is in the sections below and in our cookie policy.
• Aggregate usage statistics. Non-identifying counts, such as how many times a guide was read or a calculator was opened, which tell us which material is useful.
• Correspondence. If you email us, we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to deal with it.

Our calculators do not send us anything. The framing tools — aspect ratio, hanging height, print resolution, frame depth and the gallery wall planner — run entirely inside your browser. The dimensions, pixel counts and measurements you type into them are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and are never stored.

How we use information

We use the limited data above to:

• provide, operate and maintain the site;
• keep it secure and prevent abuse, fraud and automated scraping;
• monitor and improve performance, reliability and the usefulness of our guides;
• display advertising, which is what keeps the site free to read.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We do not build advertising profiles of our readers ourselves. We do not operate a newsletter, so we hold no marketing list.

Cookies

Zagi Frames uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:

• Essential cookies — needed for the site to behave correctly, including remembering your cookie choices so you are not asked again on every page.
• Analytics cookies — help us measure aggregate, anonymous traffic so we know which guides to improve.
• Advertising cookies — set by advertising partners, including Google, to help show relevant ads and measure how they perform.

You can control or block cookies through your browser settings. Every guide, chart and calculator on this site works with all non-essential cookies refused. A cookie-by-cookie breakdown, including names and lifetimes, is in the cookie policy.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Zagi Frames is supported by advertising, which is how the guides stay free to read. Where advertising is enabled we use Google AdSense, and may use other third-party advertising networks.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices, or youronlinechoices.eu in the EU.

Advertisers have no influence over what we publish, no advance sight of it, and no ability to have anything changed or removed. Ads are labelled as advertising wherever they appear and are never presented as editorial content — see our editorial policy.

Consent for EEA, UK and Swiss visitors

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we and our advertising partners ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, including advertising cookies, as required by law. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the cookie preferences link in the site footer, or through the browser and industry opt-out links above.

We honour the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends one: it is treated as a refusal of non-essential cookies without you having to touch the banner.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party providers, each with its own privacy policy:

• Google AdSense — to display advertising. See Google's privacy policy.
• Google Analytics, where enabled — for aggregate, anonymised traffic measurement, configured with IP anonymisation and with consent denied by default.
• Our hosting and content-delivery providers — for serving the site securely and protecting it against attack.

Beyond standard request data such as IP address and user agent, we do not share personally identifying information with these providers.

Data security

The site is served exclusively over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Access to the server and to analytics is limited to the people who operate the site and protected by multi-factor authentication. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we hold very little about you in the first place, which is the most effective protection available.

Data retention

We keep data only as long as it is needed:

• Server logs are rotated and deleted within 30 days.
• Your cookie consent choice is stored in your own browser for 6 months.
• Aggregate, non-identifying statistics may be kept indefinitely.
• Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve your request, and for up to 24 months afterwards so we can follow up on corrections.

Children's privacy

Zagi Frames is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent you previously gave.

Because we collect so little personal data, most of these rights are satisfied by default. You can still exercise any of them by emailing hello@zagi.online. We respond within 30 days. If you believe we have handled your data improperly you may complain to your national supervisory authority — though we would rather you told us first.

Your rights under the CCPA and CPRA (California residents)

If you are a California resident you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and why, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To make a request, email us with the subject line "CCPA Request". Because we operate no accounts, we may need enough information to locate records relating to you; if we cannot identify you, we will say so rather than guess.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens for EEA or UK personal data, the transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or on an adequacy decision.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes — a new category of data, or a new purpose — will be flagged on the site for at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
